2007 was the inaugural year for this contest run as the Montana state championship.
Although the 2007 event only gathered 5 entries, it was a well thought out event that happened to be on the same weekend as another in Wyoming. The event was bbq and blues over the weekend of the 17th August, the weather was warm days but chilly nights, they had a little fun about 4 in the morning when the sprinklers for the grass went off, it wet down one side of the event and two of the contestants areas. Everything was sorted out after a panic to turn them off, but all took in good cheer as just one of those things.
I know that Ceedubya and Jim did a great job for first timers, I can see this being an even better contest in 08, it was run with the assistance of the PNWBA.
The city and state did a nice job to encourage the contest and although it was 232 miles for me to travel to support them, (as I was in Yellowstone NP on holiday), it was well worth the mileage, next year I intend to do the trip from SLC, UT and compete, at 500 miles it is right at the limit of my travel to competitions. _________________ "There is no such thing as a little garlic".
